Outstanding Innovation Award

Outstanding Innovation Award

EDB39259

We were really excited to get a call from UnLtd’s Nickala Torkington to say we’d been shortlisted for an Outstanding Innovation SEE CHANGE Award. We hopped on a train to Oxford to attend a conference exploring how Universities could be catalysts for social innovation in their community. We had a great day at Wolfson College and met and heard from other social entrepreneurs and the folks in Universities who have been supporting them. Indeed we’ve been supported by the Social Enterprise team at The University of Manchester who helped us access start up funding, much needed advice and provided us with encouragement along the way. At the end of the day, the awards were read out and we won our category – the judges were impressed with the different people we’d brought together – scientists, engineers, designers and growers. It gave us the boost and excitement we needed as we prepare for opening the doors to Manchester residents at The Allotment of The Future.
